The fortified village of Nidastore:
The castle dates back to 1200 and was property of the bishop of Fossombrone, Municipality in Marche, up until the fifteenth century.
In 1431, according to tradition, the castellans kill Count Raniero, nephew of the bishop, who wanted to exercise jus primae noctis on the girls of the castle.
Following this episode, the inhabitants made an act of submission to Rocca Contrada, obtaining in exchange to become owners of the count's assets: this patrimony was sold collectively in 1460 to the Men of Nidastore, an institution that still exists today.
In the costruction of many houses the the rampart of 1400 was used as base.
The Church of St. Sebastiano has been rebuilt in 1800 and outside the ramparts of the castle there is the St. Anna Church, recently restored restaurata it is an example of medieval art in Arcevia.
