The Wine Company Mattei Estate is managed by Danilo, the heir of an historical family of wine growers from Marche in the Province of Ancona, which up to now owns a 30 hectares vineyard.

The company was born in the first years of the ‘900 when Danilo’s granfather cultivated the vineyard and the property fields. In those days the harvested grapes were given to the local wine makers that made wine to be marketed in the local market.



At the end of the fifties the company has been taken by his son Mario and his wife Maria. They had increased the surface of the vineyard and had started marketing the wine directly, firstly at a local level then throughout Italy.

In the mid-eighties Danilo took charge of the company, the amount of vineyards and wine produced has grown. In those years the company started to cultivate in an organic way some wines like Verdicchio, Lacrima, Montepulciano, Sangiovese, Merlot.



The Mattei Estate in Corinaldo, Marche, has his vineyards located in the sinuous hills in the Misa and Esino valley, notoriously known in the whole world as the territories of the Verdicchio wine.

The peculiarity of these areas are the clayey soils of marine-alluvial origin, rich in water that arise in a strip of land enclosed between the Adriatic Sea to the east and the Apennines chain to the west.
